At present, she is the Director of Programmes at Ontario Presents where she manages the Ontario Dances and Theatre Connects programmes, the Audience Demographic Mapping programme, and the Block Booking programme.

A leading figure of the contemporary dance network in Canada, Judy is also a well-known and well-travelled facilitator of the Critical Response Process – a widely-recognized method that nurtures the development of artistic work-in-progress through a four-step, facilitated dialogue between artists, peers, and audiences.

Critical Responses Methodology

How do we talk about a performance we experienced? How do our audiences?

Critical Response demonstrates simple and effective methods to generate audience feedback through dialogue and guided conversation. It allows audiences to grow, connect, question, and draw meaningful insight from the artwork they experience.

Judy Harquail from Ontario, Canada will work with a group of trainees in Calcutta to develop them into certified facilitators in their own right.

Participants will

– Train in the methodology

– Observe audience discussions

– Conduct audience discussions themselves

– Receive feedback from Judy Harquail
