In these precarious times, when nothing feels safe or constant around us, what kind of spaces do we need to gently and persistently re/create, nurture and hold? As artists, as arts organisations, as arts audiences, as citizens of a world in dangerous flux, how do we hold on to, offer and share values of care, empathy, solidarity and friendship? How do we still hold our ground resisting all the forces that are against us? How do we hold our course not knowing what the future holds?

When we are constantly being asked to be faster, higher, stronger, better – often to the detriment of ourselves, our societies, our ecologies, and our planet – PF Season 5 suggests we pause and hold space with and for each other, and the world we can actually grow into… with gentleness, with grace, with generosity, with gusto.

গত কয়েক বছরের বিভিন্ন কাজের মাঝে আমরা যখনই পিছন ফিরে তাকিয়েছি, নিজেদের মূল্যবোধ ও সুনির্দিষ্ট চর্চাকে প্রশ্ন করেছি : এই অস্থির এবং টালমাটাল সময়ে যখন প্রায় সবকিছুর উপর থেকে আস্থা শেষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে সেখানে আমাদের কী ধরনের পরিস্থিতি অবিরামভাবে বারবার গড়ে তোলা, লালন করা এবং বহাল রাখার দরকার? শিল্পী হিসাবে, শিল্প প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসাবে, শ্রোতা বা বিশ্বের নাগরিক হিসাবে স্থিতিশীল বোধসম্মত পরিবেশ কীভাবে ধরে রাখতে পারবো?

আজকের প্রতিযোগিতার যুগে আমরা দিকবিদিক জ্ঞানশূন্য হয়ে দৌড়েই চলেছি, চারপাশের প্রকৃতি, পরিবেশ বা সমাজের ভালো মন্দ কিছু ভেবে দেখার পরোয়া না করেই। ঠিক এই সময়েই সকলের কাছে আমাদের আবেদন, সাময়িক বিরতি নিয়ে নিজেদের চারপাশকে একটু ফিরে দেখার, নিজের স্বার্থেই নিজেদেরকে আরেকটু বেঁধে রাখার বা বেঁধে থাকার। যেখানে থাকবে পরস্পরের প্রতি আন্তরিকতা, সম্মান, সৌজন্যের মিলাপ।
