Shoot the Cameraman India Tour
After All India Tour
Shoot the Cameraman | AWA / As We Are
contemporary dance performance from Luxembourg
Shoot the Cameraman brilliantly employs contemporary dance and live camera (with the two camerapersons choreographed into the piece) to comment on the relationships between media, power and perceptions. The audience are offered a permanent double reading of the piece and have the opportunity to simultaneously attend a live performance on stage and on screen. Seeing is interactive, personal and supposedly unfalsifiable. But how much of what we see and perceive is directed by a cameraman’s framing? And how does that shape our imaginations and perceptions of reality?
After All | Solène Weinachter
dance-theatre performance from Scotland
After All celebrates the intricacies of humanity’s vulnerable and courageous existence, encouraging us to feel these essential emotions fully. Skillfully comedic and emotionally introspective, it explores death rituals we have, those we’ve lost, and those that need inventing. Through a series of humorous, impassioned re-enactments of the funerals – and imagining her own – Solène conjures a better sort of space for all of us to be with death, dying and loss; exploring the role that dancing may play in healing. She melds dance, comedy, storytelling and theatre to ask: what happens in the end?

MEET THE ARTISTS
AWA / As We Are
Set up by Baptiste Hilbert & Catarina Barbosa, AWA / As We Are is a dance company whose inspiration comes from contemporary social matters mainly related to the new behaviors created by the digital age. They aim to create new places of movement by combining choreographic art and latest technological innovation to reveal ourselves as we are. They believe that exchanging daily with others is essential to nurture their creativity and share these ideas. And so we have curated a week of varied engagements for them along with our many amazing partners.
