A big thank you to our Pickle Pulse, Pals, Patrons and Pioneers for 2025-26.

You have sent in your contributions and expressions of solidarity from across India to help us keep going. This will enable us to

  • support a small part time team
  • programme intimate and regular engagements with local and visiting artists in Calcutta
  • consolidate company structure and systems
  • refurbish our workspace into a resource for movement artists working in the city
  • plan towards larger programmes in 2026-27, as we build back slowly but surely

And if you would like to contribute with anything else – time, resources, space, expertise… – please do drop us a line.

Here’s a snapshot of what your support will enable in 2025-26?

  1. Our series of workshops for educational NGOs under our Arts4All initiative
Facilitated by Indian and international artists and educators, these 4-5 day workshops open up the world of the arts to young students as well as build bridges between practicing artists and teachers working on art integration practices.
  2. @Home – a sampling of art, dance, music and food hosted by and for Kolkata’s art lovers
Co-curated with our partner Ponder Alt, this bimonthly series takes artists into the cosy comfort and hospitality of peoples’ homes, where small audiences can meet artists up close and delve into their processes and work. Here’s more on the @Home sessions so far.
  3. Dance Appreciation Workshops
Designed and facilitated by dance critic Kathakali Jana, these workshops open up the world of dance to diverse dance-curious demographics in enjoyable and accessible ways. We plan to offer this a a regular Pickle Factory service.
  4. Scratch! – a showcase of works in progress
To support artists in sharing early versions of their work, and facilitate audience engagement and feedback, we present Scratch! – a model we tried only in 2019, and that intend to now present regularly.
  5. Finding Ground – a platform for emerging artists
Co-presented with Artsforward, Finding Ground offers a place of belonging for young artists and new choreographic voices. The 2024-25 edition presented work from Bangalore, Imphal, Raipur and Roing.

Keep a lookout for the quarterly Pickle Pals Post emailer for regular updates. We hope to see you at some of these programmes.
